The LaMancha is recognized as a separate North American breed developed on the West Coast of the US, but its ancestors are believed to be of Spanish origin. Â Very small ears of two types are their most outstanding characteristic: gopher ears being small and rounded, or elf ears, shorter than two inches. Â The LaMancha is of medium size but is very strong and hardy. Â A mature doe weighs 130 pounds or more; a buck weighs 160 pounds or more. Â This very friendly and calm breed of dairy goat comes in any color or combination of colors.
